![]() Summer’s beginning to wind down and a chill has come into the air as the sunlight diminishes. The fruits of nature are ripening in this time of harvest. ![]() During this season of autumn, a picture of the Archangel Michael who battles the evil dragon arises within my soul. This archetype has appeared in mythology for many years. Where one overcomes or transforms evil through courage in action. ![]() Archangel Michael has been one of my key guides and healers in my life. In this season of autumn, I make sure I take some time to rise to the call to overcome my own inner dragons. These inner dragons can manifest in our lives as fear and anxiety, or even a love of ease, at this time of year. With Archangel Michael as my guide, I strive to move forward with an inner strength to awaken and to bring new and courageous ways of thinking and living in the world. Take a moment and listen to this song: I Wanna Get To You written by my husband David Sharp. These are the lyrics of the song. I felt that Archangel Michael spoke these words to me directly, as a guide in my life. In the middle of the night I heard your cry it was hard to miss and it made me fly through the gates of heaven down to earth just to be with you... I want to give you what you want - bring you peace give you brand new joy - make your heartache cease I want to fill you with a passion that you’ve never known... and arouse your deepest senses... that you have longed for... a long long time won’t you let me be your lifeline.... by tomorrow morning you will feel a change your life will start to rearrange. I’ve got wisdom and knowledge that’s ancient and new I got divine power I know what to do My light is a fire that soothes the soul... If you let me in I’ll make you shout I can give you the release you’ve been dreaming about I can melt the frozen places and make you whole... if you let me in I’ll bring you out I’ll show you what loving is all about and with Mary here to hold you near there’s no need to worry, nothing to fear the past is gone, the future is here I wanna get to you I’ve got angel eyes with you in sight come on let me through I can take you from a cold winter’s day to a summer’s night If you let me in it won’t be a sin I’ve got angel eyes with fire inside oooooo.... I wanna get to you As you lay there open up to me you won’t even have to move for me to set you free When you feel my gentle power flow let your body go feel the holy kiss feel the sacred bliss I wanna get to you I’ve got angel eyes with you in sight come on let me through I can take you from a cold winter’s day to a summer’s night If you let me in we can begin I’ve got angel eyes with fire inside oooooo.... I wanna get to you (repeat) After listening to this song, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Then ask yourself, “Who is one of my key guides?” See who pops up! What do they have to say to you?!

As human beings in the world, we’re all naturally creative. We’re the creators of each day that’s given to us as a gift. We’re the creators of each relationship we have. We’re the creators of each task we undertake. ![]() Where previously there was nothing, a spark is ignited, and we’re able to birth something new into the world! Within this creative nature that we all possess, we have the possibility to become a shining and powerful healing force in the world. In my creative endeavors that I feel called to bring to the world, I am continuously inspired by St. Hildegard and the courage and strength she found to birth her creations into the world. ![]() After 9th century Viking invaders had destroyed St. Rupert’s church on the Rhine River, St. Hildegard was called to leave her home of 40 years and build her own abbey there in 1150. The inspiring work of St. Rupert in the 7th century fueled St. Hildegard’s commitment to move forward with this project. In her song, O Jerusalem, she honors this new creation and the respect and even kinship she felt toward St. Rupert. Here is an image of Rupertsberg, the abbey she created ![]() One can imagine that St. Hildegard may have been drawing a comparison between her abbey and the Holy City of Jerusalem awaiting its rebuilding in heaven. I imagine that St. Hildegard was both excited and also challenged to bring this new abbey into creation with many obstacles that came into her path in this endeavor. The monks at St. Hildegard's initial abbey, St. Disibod, were not supportive of her plans to create a new abbey. She was plagued with self doubt. Our current times are calling all of us to become creators of the solutions within our communities. New solutions, new ideas, and new ways of thinking are needed. So that we can live fully and peacefully on this great planet Earth. Become inspired to begin your next creative endeavor, or what I like to call your Rupertsberg as you listen to St. Hildegard’s song, O Jerusalem. Here I share the English translation of a portion of the song. O Jerusalem (English Translation) O Jerusalem, golden city Adorned in the King’s purple O edifice of supreme goodness Whose light never darkens In you makes symphony the Holy Spirit For you are singing with angel choirs. And you are adorned in the Son of God, For you live in Love. O Jerusalem! See these walls of glowing, glowing stones. And shooting, shooting stars; shooting stars! Stay in love! Stay in love! Feel the Living Light! Feel the Beauty! Feel the Spark of God! Feel the Warmth which heals. Hear Love calling: “Peace, Peace, Peace.” I invite you to take a moment to listen to this song in Latin. Get in a comfortable position, take a few deep breaths, then close your eyes and just let the music wash over you. What in your life are you being called to create right now? What is your next Rupertsberg? Meaning, what is your current (or next) creative endeavor that you are being called to birth into this world so that it can be of service? Who inspires you to take those steps to act? Fill your Rupertsberg with beauty, light, and love as you picture it in your mind. Imagine it bringing warmth and healing into the world. How can you realize and manifest your Rupertsberg? What changes might you need to make in your life in order for this to be realized in the world? Physical, emotional, mental? Are there any obstacles you sense on the path of this creation? Any fears or self doubt? Any lack of confidence or commitment? How will you work through these? She shared what it said to her, “… speak and write what you see and hear… according to the extent that you see and hear those things in the heavens above in the marvelousness of God… Write those things not according to yourself or by the standards of another person, but according to the will of the one knowing, the one who sees and arranges all things in the secrets of His own mysteries.” (Scivias) St. Hildegard didn’t want to act on this at all. I can certainly understand. She was frightened and anxious. She felt insecure and inadequate. All of us feel like this from time to time. To share her visions with the world was going to be a big step. It was going against the culture and traditions of the time. Women weren’t part of the clergy in her time. Women didn’t preach, speak publicly, or write. Let alone on controversial topics such as visions from God. She was afraid that if she shared her visions, she would be destroyed. ![]() St. Hildegard had to muster her courage and hold on to her faith that it would be okay since she was being guided by the Divine. “…. I put my hand to writing. Once I did this, a deep and profound exposition of books came over me. I received the strength …. and under that power I continued to carry out the work to the end..” - St. Hildegard of Bingen, Scivias Sometimes we see walls in our path and really they are just illusions. Our fear stopping us from taking action. But if we stay connected to the Divine, we are able to move forward on our true path in life and share what we came here to share, even if it is new and different. Our hearts open and we engage in manifesting our work in service to humanity. When you feel that wall of fear in your path, I invite you to take a moment to listen to this song that David wrote and I sing, LET YOUR LOVE FLOW. For me, it helps me to gather my courage, even in the darkest of times, and get moving! Here are some of the lyrics - LET YOUR LOVE FLOW The world can be a scary place when you’re trying to live a dream It takes courage to keep going when you feel like you’re going against the stream Keep the faith... and hold on to the power that keeps you strong The walls in your way are illusions in your path Fear keeps them standing You decide how long they last Let your love flow Let the fear go Let love lead the way What the heart sees is your victory Let this be your day in the dark times Let your light shine It will see you through What the heart knows well and your courage tells is that you cannot fail…. The power is yours... to break FREE to claim your JOY and be at PEACE EXTEND YOUR LOVE Open up your HEART ‘cause LIFE is waiting to give you a BRAND NEW START Listen to the whole song here. LINK Enjoy and I hope it helps you to gather your courage and act when you need a little boost! ![]() “Humanity, take a good look at yourself. The squirrels seem to be extra busy as they gather nuts. We’ve even had a couple cool days with a refreshing breeze that requires a light jacket. A sprinkle of autumn is in the air and will arrive in its full glory not long from now. As autumn approaches, I’m reminded that St. Hildegard’s feast day is in September. On September 17th, to be exact. What a perfect time to remember and appreciate the many gifts she has given us. ![]() One of Hildegard’s valuable contributions is her idea of Viriditas. Translated as “greening power,” Viriditas can be described as the divine life force that lives and breathes within all living beings. This potent force is full of vitality, moisture, and fecundity, able to bring creativity and healthy abundance into the world. It makes all things grow, expand, and thrive. We experience it in the dynamic growth of plants in nature as well as our own sense of health. ![]() As the summer gently comes to a close and autumn is on the horizon, Mother Nature gives the final gifts of the season in the abundant harvest we gather at this time – the fruits of the greening power of summer. Celebrate these fruits with the one of St. Hildegard’s songs, O Viridissima Virga. Here I share the English translation. O VIRIDISSIMA VIRGA (O Greenest Branch) Hail, O greenest branch! You came forth in the windy blast of the questioning of saints. When the time came for you to blossom in your branches, “hail” was the word to you, for the heat of the sun distilled in you a fragrance like balsam. For in you bloomed the beautiful flower that gave fragrance to all the spices that had grown dry. And they all appeared in full verdure. So the skies rained dew on the grass and the whole earth exulted, for her womb brought forth wheat, and the birds of heaven made their nests in it. Then food was prepared for humans and great joy for the banqueters. So, in you, sweet Virgin, no joy ever fails. Have no fear! Praise be to the Most High. I invite you to take a moment to listen to a version of this song in the original Latin which I recorded with Gary Grundei. Soak in the lush, expansive instrumental with the heart warming and soaring vocals. This song is a "stress buster", the perfect song to listen to at the end of a challenging day. Get in a comfortable position, take a few deep breaths, then close your eyes and just let the music wash over you. Picture yourself becoming the “greenest of branches.” With a flower that blooms and then becomes a fruit. Picture the color and size of the blossom and then the fruit. What does it smell like? How does it feel when touched? What is its taste? Picture what “flower” bloomed within you recently and is now a fragrant and juicy “fruit” or gift ready to be offered to others? What joy do these fruits in your life bring to you?
